Glenn and Carolyn Waddell

Sawdust Alpacas, LLC

Thinking about retirement from 35 years as a carpenter, in June 2009, Glenn and Carolyn Waddell decided to raise Alpacas. Quite a change from a carpenter, who never had a pet, to raising alpacas!

Here we are, 13 years later, with 45 alpacas on our property. 42 of those alpacas are ours, 3 are boarded for a few months. Sawdust Alpacas resided in Reno, NV from June 2009 to January 2018, and then we moved to Fallon NV-- home of the US Navy Top Gun Training School.

Sawdust Alpacas, LLC is 5 acres of desert sand and sage brush. We were able to purchase a small building to house a store of alpaca products of all kinds. We have stuffed alpacas, teddy bears, sweaters, hats, gloves, and scarves all made with alpaca fiber. We have hand made products from some of our Harvest Hosts guests – embroidered towels, coasters, hand made keychains, magnets, logo jewelry and greeting cards.

We became a Harvest Host destination in October 2020 and welcomed about 275 RVers to our corner of the world in the last year. We Invite you to visit, learn about alpacas, help with chores, or just relax and enjoy Nevada’s wonderful sunrises and sunsets.

Or you can take a selfie with Harvest Host’s mascot “HaRVey” (our alpaca named Sawdust’s JC’s Nambar).
